Workshops

I have been living a semi-self sufficient lifestyle for 34 years with my husband Nev. Over that time we have gathered information and expertise that we apply on a near daily basis. I want people to learn these skills and incorporate them in their lives at some point. They are all useful and supporting, fun and satisfying. The equipment you need for trying these new found skills is in the most part easily obtained or in many cases you may already have it as part of your kitchen. The workshops are run at "Ouroboros" in the Scargill Valley in North Canterbury. They are small, intimate groups where the participants can get great hands on experience. The workshops are often seasonal but some run all year round. The ingredients are from our small farm or sourced locally. There is an inclination to certified organic ingredients, although we farm in a "MOST' (Mindfully, Organic and Sustainable Techniques) way.

Put together a group of 3-5 people and I will organise a time with you that suits your group, or if you are finding it hard to get a group you can put your name down and when there is enough for a workshop we will set the date.

I make 3 cheese varieties. You can choose between Cheddar or Gouda (hard cheeses), feta or halloumi (semi hard) and I always make a ricotta cheese. You get to take some home and we have a bread and cheese lunch but I ask participants to bring something small to add to the table, (salad, avocado, tomato or some such).
